Welcome to the NYC Trans Archives! The NYC Trans Archives (NYCTA) is dedicated to preserving transgender culture in the New York City region and beyond. Founded in 2023, NYCTA is the first and only trans-specific full-service archive in the Eastern United States. It is entirely independent and run by and for trans people. It is located in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, Lenapehoking, with archival storage facilities in New Jersey.
Public acquisitions will open in late 2025, prioritizing materials often overlooked by formal institutions. Stay tuned by signing up for occasional email updates.
